This week we look at 5 of the quickest and tastiest meal you can cook on the bank.
If like me, you just want to concentrate your attention on the fishing while on the bank then these five meal ideas will point you in the right direction.
Let’s get cooking!!
Just Chicken
Sounds kinda boring, but it’s super easy so you can spend more time concentrating on the fishing.
Most supermarkets sell sealed cooked chicken, which tastes great and lasts for days in a cool bag.
You can add it to a salad, sandwich or noodles/couscous and there is no cooking involved also no washing up!
Sausage baguette
Simply cook the sausages in a pan… or if you don’t want to faff around with cooking on the bank, cook lets say 20 sausages at home in the oven for around 20 minutes, wait till they cool down then chuck individual dinner portions into sealable tubs or bags.
So on the bank all you need to do is add them to a baguette, add other ingredients such as salad and you’re done. No need to cook on the bank!
Full English
If you don’t mind cooking on the bank and you’re not dieting, then this will be the one for you.
Cooking a full English can sound a little tricky to do on the bank so owning a grill pan such as the RidgeMonkey Sandwich Toaster XL is ideal to fit everything in one pan.
Ingredients may vary, but my personal preference is bacon, eggs, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms(in a can) and beans… tasty!!
Stir Fry
If you’re a fan of Chinese food, a stir fry on the bank is the one for you. Such a quick, easy, warm and tasty meal to cook on the bank. All you will need is chicken, egg or rice noodles(fresh), stir fry veg(fresh), stir fry sauce sachet and soy sauce. To make cooking a stir fry manageable on the bank you will need a small/medium non stick wok or large pan.
First you will need to add a little oil, make sure the pan is hot before adding the chicken, then cook it until the chicken is nice and crispy. Add the veg into the pan, cook for a few minutes, then add the noodles and sauce, cook for a few more minutes. Give it a go on the bank!
Hot dogs
You can’t get much easier than cooking hot dogs on the bank. Cook up some onions for a few minutes, then place the hot dogs in the pan for a few more minutes. Add the hot dogs into breaded baps, add the onions, cheese and sauce… and boom a tasty easy meal once again.
