This week’s tackle review is the popular Tactical Flat Bedchair by carp tackle innovators Wychwood.
After featuring this bedchair in our 9 of the lightest bedchairs on the market guide, we knew this bedchair would be perfect for keeping mobile and ideal for long hauls to the lake.
This review is designed to cover all the features included with this bedchair so you can make a decision if this is the right bedchair for you.
Let’s get started!
The review
One of the biggest benefits to owning the Wychwood Tactical bedchair over any other bedchair on the market, is how lightweight the bedchair really is.
The Tactical bedchair by Wychwood is available in three different sizes/weights, suiting every type of situation and anglers preference. The range includes; Wide – weighing in at 7.5kg, Standard weighs 7kg and Compact weighing in at as little as 6.5kg.
The bedchair includes Wychwood’s stylish and unique camo patterned material, which is used throughout their full range of luggage and tackle items.
The bedchair has a built in padded fleece mattress and offers a flat profile design, giving you a great night’s sleep. As well as the mattress, the bedchair includes a built in small padded pillow.
It packs away so compact due to the locking strap included, the locking strap also doubles up as a super convenient carry handle, great for keeping mobile.
The locking strap makes it super easy to fold it away is a hurry, you can fold it away with your sleeping bag still on the bed too, ready to set up in the next swim.
Because of it’s compact profile and fold away design, it’s perfect for small cars.
If you decide that the compact size option of the Tactical bedchair is the one for you then this will fit under most day shelters/brollies on the market such as the Wychwood solace 60.
It’s lightweight, compact design is ideal for fishing mobile. Whether you’re fishing a lake, river or canal, it definitely suits a lot of different situations.
The bedchair includes simple individual adjustable legs, great for any uneven ground you may come across.
The sturdy frame creates an extremely flat profile and doesn’t stick out like other bedchairs on the market giving you a good night’s sleep.
Having been developed and tested over many years by the Wychwood pro angling team, the quality definitely shows.

[…] bedchair I use is the super light and compact Wychwood Tactical Bedchair. It’s very stylish, packs away quickly and I highly recommend […]
What is the weight limit on the bed,as I am over 24st would it support my weight.
Look forward to your reply asap.
Hey thanks for the comment! I wouldn’t recommend it. After about a year or so of use the bedchair has started to sag and I’ve had to DIY some underneath support using elasticated hooks so not worth the hassle. I would take a look at the Nash Indulgence Wide I’ve heard good thing about it. Hope this helps!
Thanks for that Mike, will take a look at your suggestion.
No Problem! Thanks for the comment!
