Our Short Bivvy Buying Guide
Throughout the years we have created a handy guide on what features you should look out for before buying a bivvy.
Firstly make sure the bivvy comes with good quality durable T-pegs and a compact carry bag.

Assuming you only fish day sessions then a brolly type bivvy is ideal because of its lightweight structure and quick assembly, giving you more time to set up the rest of your gear and can be super handy when it suddenly rains. Brollies are also great if you want to be mobile and move on to showing fish.
If you’re planning on using the bivvy for longer fishing sessions and want a little more comfort on the bank then make sure the bivvy comes with a heavy-duty groundsheet and find out if an overwrap is available as this will reduce any condensation, keeping you warm and dry at any time of the year.
Supposing you’re planning a fishing holiday abroad then a full bivvy system with front and rear ventilation is an excellent choice.
If you’re intending on taking a friend or partner night fishing or just want more space to store your gear then a two-man sized bivvy is highly advised.

Top guide! Thanks for the advice!
Could u teLloyd me where I can get the overwrap for the saber capsule 1 man bivvy
From what I remember I don’t think an overwrap is available for that specific bivvy. Hope that helps!
Cheers Mike, could you get me any details on hoe to get a TF Airflow Bivvy shipped to the USA. I having a really tough time trying to get this Bivvy shipped over to the states. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hey Thomas,
Sorry to here about that. I guess it differs from company to company. I don’t really have experience with shipping carp tackle to the US but I believe companies like Trakker and possibly Nash ship to the USA and Canada.
Let me know how you get on and I can update the blog to include information for US anglers.
Thanks
Mike
I’m on a budget but want to buy a bivvy for night fishing with oversheet.. Can you recommend what is the best one to buy
Hey Victoria, Sorry for the late reply, just got the notice. Tricky one really as a lot of the high quality bivvies with a overwrap normally around £200-£500. I would say have look at TF Gear and Angling direct’s Avanta range. Failing that have a look at Chub. Before I bit the bullet and invested in a Trakker bivvy I had a Chub bivvy that lasted years!! Good luck!
Hi would you buy an inflatable bivvy or a normal pram hood bivvy. Also do you know if the inflatable bivvy go down once pumped up thanks
